SBIR/STTR Solicitations from NSF, NIH and DoW – a lot of specific help!

The agencies are on the move getting SBIR/STTR solicitations up and running!  There is so much action and so many helpful resources that I’ve split them into their own pages including the NIH SBIR/STTR page and our NSF SBIR/STTR page. We will keep up with changes and additions.

SBIR.gov Topics pageAs of July, we know that NSF, NIH, and DoW (formerly DoD) have all published solicitations.  Agencies that have historically issued one solicitation per year, including Ag, DoE and others have not yet released solicitations although we are getting close to the traditional issuance seasone (late summer and early fall) which you can see in the chart.

What’s important to know is that as of mid 2026, the SBIR.gov Funding Opportunities page is NOT reflecting all available SBIR/STTR opportunities! In the past this was an excellent resource to see all open SBIR/STTR solicitations.  Here’s what insiders recently told me:

Solicitation and topic information on SBIR.gov is uploaded by each participating agency at their own convenience, so there can occasionally be a delay between when an agency opens a solicitation on their own site and when it appears on SBIR.gov.

  • We can confirm that NSF solicitations NSF 26-510 and NSF 26-511 have not yet been uploaded to SBIR.gov at this time, even though they are showing as open on NSF‘s site.
  • Regarding DoD (DOW) solicitations, we are aware that four solicitations with multiple linked topics have been uploaded to SBIR.gov.
    • Solicitation Number: 26.BZ (23 Topics)
    • Solicitation Number: 26.TX (1 Topic)
    • Solicitation Number: 26.TZ (6 Topics)
    • Solicitation Number: 26.BX (7 Topics)
Our team is scouring the system for published solicitations, so make sure you’re subscribed to our SBIR newsletter to get our monthly digest and Get our free guide “40 Ways to Improve your SBIR/STTR proposal”.
